Perfect drive. For an older laptop, it felt like such a refresh that it almost acted like a completely different, a generation better computer. I set up a large swap/pagefile file and with this SSD, the system mostly behaves as if there really is 30 GB of physical RAM needed (although the reality is 8 GB + swap file). 600 TBW is such a huge endurance that even with a lot of swapping you won't "use up" the drive in more than a couple of decades. Western Digital is quality. Further, it's the cheapest drive but it already has integrated DRAM and that's very important with SSDs (whether SATA or NvMe) because it has its own dedicated "cache/cache" memory and doesn't have to use either system RAM (that's slower) or its own NAND cells that are designed to store data (and aren't as fast for that purpose as dedicated DRAM is). With a heavier load, you can tell: SSDs with DRAM will not slow down, SSDs without DRAM will slow down significantly. So don't buy too cheap SSDs, you won't get the exact benefits you're getting the SSD for. Always see if it has its own DRAM or not. And this disc has it!
