The EATON UPS 5P 1550iR Gen2 UPS uses a line-interactive topology that delivers a pure sine wave output. It operates with an apparent power of 1550VA and a real power of 1350W. At full load, it achieves an efficiency of 98.2%, and its Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) feature corrects mains fluctuations without using the battery, thereby extending its life. In the event of a power failure, it powers connected devices for 2.1 minutes at 100% load or 13.5 minutes at 50% load.

Battery management and protection features

The EATON UPS 5P 1550iR Gen2 UPS unit contains six maintenance-free lead-acid batteries (6V / 9Ah) that can be replaced by the user during operation. Eaton ABM+ charging technology extends battery life by up to 50% and includes predictive alerts for when they need to be replaced. Integrated deep-discharge protection contributes to a longer lifespan. The cold start function starts the UPS from the battery even without mains power present.

Management and monitoring options

USB (HID compatible) and RS-232 communication ports are provided for management and monitoring. The Eaton Brightlayer software suite supports seamless integration with virtualisation environments and cloud services. The EATON UPS 5P 1550iR Gen2 UPS also offers a slot for an optional communication card, such as the Network-M3, and a mini-terminal block for remote power-on or power-off of the unit. The automatic shutdown function safely shuts down connected systems.

Connector equipment and connection

The EATON UPS 5P 1550iR Gen2 UPS unit connects to the mains via a standard IEC C14 input connector. For powering connected devices, the unit offers six IEC C13 output sockets. All outputs are fully backed up and protected against surges. Intelligent load segment control provides the option to divide the sockets into groups and prioritise power to key systems during a prolonged power outage, optimising backup time for important equipment. The package includes two IEC-IEC connection cables for easy load connection.
