The EATON UPS 5P 850iR Gen2 Netpack UPS is a compact rack-mountable solution providing a true power output of 680W for powering servers and network elements. It uses line-interactive topology with automatic voltage regulation (AVR), which corrects undervoltage and overvoltage without switching to the battery. It includes a cybersecure Gigabit network card (Netpack) for advanced remote management. The 680W UPS protects sensitive IT equipment from outages and network fluctuations, offering long backup times – 3.9 minutes at full load and 13.2 minutes at half load. A high online mode efficiency of up to 98% reduces operating costs and energy consumption. A clear graphical LCD simplifies configuration and monitoring of operating statuses.

Battery management and protection

ABM+ battery management technology extends battery life by up to 50% through three-stage charging and status monitoring. The batteries are user-replaceable even during operation (hot-swap), and the graphical LCD shows instructions for their replacement. The EATON UPS 5P 850iR Gen2 Netpack UPS supports a cold start, meaning it can be started directly from the batteries without an input power supply, and protects connected devices against surge damage.

Remote management and software

The EATON UPS 5P 850iR Gen2 Netpack UPS includes a cybersecure Gigabit network card for remote management and monitoring. Communication is also provided by USB (HID) and RS-232 ports. Intelligent management of two load segments optimises battery runtime for critical devices. The included Eaton Brightlayer Software suite integrates with virtualisation platforms and manages monitoring and automatic system shutdown.

Connectors and connectivity

The EATON UPS 5P 850iR Gen2 Netpack UPS uses an IEC C14 input connector for power. The output section contains four IEC C13 sockets, which it divides into two controllable segments. This division helps prioritise power for critical applications and extend their backup time. The package also includes two IEC Jumper cables for direct device connection.
