The line interactive UPS also adds voltage regulation to prevent damage from electrical surges from the grid.

An important parameter is how long the UPS will function when the electricity is off. This depends on the power consumption of the connected electronics – for example, at half-load (50%), the battery backup time can last up to three times as long. The load of the backup source determines the operating time, which at full load is 2 min and at half the energy consumption, it is 11 min. It is therefore necessary to calculate the power consumption of the connected electronics and ideally to have a bit of energy extra left.
