The GIGABYTE B85M-DS3H-A is a compact Micro-ATX motherboard suitable mainly for modern home or corporate PCs designed for versatile use. Its advanced Intel B85 chipset indicates the board is primarily intended for Intel Haswell processors and meets the parameters for the current state of the art computer configurations.
The low price, however, does not mean its hardware equipment is lacking in any way. In addition to four slots for DDR3 RAM clocked at 1600 MHz and maximum 32 GB capacity, it features a D-Sub port, DVI-D, and HDMI for connecting all your display devices. An advanced Realtek sound card with the modern ALC 887 codec ensures excellent sound quality, as it is capable of playing up to 7.1 channel audio. Its gigabit network card is no slouch either and makes fast data transfer a breeze.
The motherboard has 4 SATA III connectors for connecting HDDs and SSDs, though the manufacturer also included a pair of older SATA II connectors as well. Graphics cards and other adapters can be easily connected via a full-fledged third generation PCI Express x16 slot and two PCI Express x1 slots.
