Kodak UltraMax 400/135-24 3-pack

Kodak UltraMax 400/135-24 3-pack
Kodak Gold Ultra 400 colour panchromatic sensitized negative film features standard grain and natural colour rendition. It is advisable to choose the optimal exposure, as the film reacts less well to underexposure, when graininess increases disproportionately and colour saturation is lost. The sensitometric properties of the film are improved upon overexposure. Although the film is presented as a daytime film, it can also be used in artificial lighting. Applying the appropriate conversion filter will correct for possible colour shift. This is a highly sensitive film designed for low-light photography. or in compact cameras with a less luminous lens. Processing by C-41 process.

Panchromatic films and spectral sensitivity
Panchromatic films react to reality in a similar way to human vision, which perceives light rays with wavelengths from approximately 380 nm to 740 nm (visible light), but in some cases can also be sensitive to UV and IR radiation. Therefore, it is recommended to have a UV filter on the lens, which suppresses the effect of radiation on the film material. The spectral sensitivity of Kodak film is in the range of approximately 370-680 nm.
Film sensitization for accurate tonality and colour conversion
Therefore, to achieve sensitivity to the entire visible light spectrum, the films are sensitized, which already guarantees the correct conversion of colour reality into grey scale. If the film was not sensitized, it would not be able to respond to light rays of a certain wavelength, and so the resulting images would lack certain parts of tonality. For example, it would not react to green, yellow, orange and red colours, it would not detect them and on a black and white positive these shades would be black or otherwise dark. Such material is mostly only used in the field of scientific and industrial photography, where these "flaws" are deliberately worked with.
