Wi-Fi connectivity and speed
This access point operates on two frequency bands, supporting standards from 802.11a up to Wi-Fi 7. On the 2.4GHz band, the transfer speed reaches 688Mbps, while on the 5GHz band, it is 4323Mbps. Data transfer efficiency is enhanced by advanced technologies like MU-MIMO for simultaneous communication with multiple clients, OFDMA for optimal channel utilisation, 4K-QAM for higher modulation density, Multi-Link Operation (MLO) for simultaneous connections across multiple bands at once, and Beamforming for precise signal routing to devices.
Mesh technology, coverage and connectivity
The device supports Wi-Fi Mesh technology, which creates a unified network under a single name (SSID) for seamless roaming when moving between nodes. The two-unit system configuration can handle more than 120 active devices without losing speed or connection stability. A set of high-speed Ethernet ports provides wired connectivity. There is one 2.5Gbit WAN/LAN port for high-speed uplink or backhaul and two 1Gbit LAN ports for connecting end devices. The entire device is powered by an external 12V / 1.5A mains adapter.
Advanced network security
Data transmission is secured by modern WPA, WPA2, and the latest WPA3 encryption standards. The FortiSecu security suite, developed in collaboration with Trend Micro, actively protects connected devices from threats. The security features include: Integrated firewall and Access Control, an isolated Guest Zone network, Advanced parental controls for managing children's time online, Integrated VPN with support for OpenVPN, PPTP, L2TP, and WireGuard protocols, and router-level filtering of malicious content.
