Wi-Fi Connectivity and Speed
The wireless network operates on the Wi-Fi 7 standard and uses three separate frequency bands. OFDMA and MU-MIMO technologies coordinate data transmission to multiple devices simultaneously, while the 320MHz channel width in the 6GHz band allows for higher transfer speeds. High-speed data transfer occurs at up to 688Mbps on the 2.4GHz band, up to 4,323Mbps on the 5GHz band, and up to 5,764Mbps on the 6GHz band, with the total theoretical Wi-Fi speed reaching up to 10,775Mbps.
Mesh Coverage
The mesh system connects multiple units under a single network name and helps eliminate dead spots. The Adaptive Roaming feature seamlessly switches end devices between nodes without interrupting the connection, and the system can handle more than 200 connected devices. Two units together cover an area of up to 557m² with a wireless signal. The flexible backhaul link between nodes can use either wireless MLO technology or a wired connection.
System Security
The FortiSecu security suite ensures the protection of your home network. The system allows you to isolate networks for guests, children, and IoT devices, thereby increasing the overall level of security. Integrated parental controls help manage time spent online and block inappropriate content. Comprehensive network protection is further ensured by WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK, and WPA3 encryption, a network firewall, access control, and support for VPN protocols including WireGuard. Furthermore, separate guest and IoT networks help to segregate these devices from the main home network.
Port Selection
Physical device connection to the network is provided by three 2.5Gbps LAN ports and one 2.5Gbps WAN port, allowing for flexible integration into your home infrastructure. Wired connectivity is complemented by one USB 3.2 Gen 1 port (USB 3.0) for connecting external devices. Power is supplied by the included mains adapter.
