nJoy Renton 650 Plus

The nJoy Renton 650 Plus backup power supply with Line-interactive topology provides an apparent power of 650VA and a real power of 360W to power office electronics and home workstations. This UPS Tower integrates an AVR function that actively stabilises fluctuating input voltage in the 162–290VAC range without switching to battery power, thus extending its life. In the event of a power failure, it supplies a simulated sine wave output with a typical transfer time of 4ms. At half load, this backup power supply with AVR will keep connected devices running for 6 minutes. Its features also include a UPS with USB charging, specifically with Type-C (30W) and Type-A (18W) ports for fast charging of mobile devices. Its compact design and low noise level of under 20dB make it ideal for use in quiet working environments.

Performance and voltage regulation

The Line-interactive topology stabilises the output voltage using automatic voltage regulation (AVR), which corrects undervoltage and overvoltage in the 162–290VAC range. This protects the connected electronics without wearing down the battery. It provides an apparent power of 650VA and a real power of 360W. In battery mode, which activates within a typical 4ms, it generates an output voltage with a simulated sine wave. This waveform is suitable for powering computers with switched-mode power supplies, including those with active PFC, and other common IT equipment.

Battery and backup time

The unit contains one GP05122F maintenance-free battery. It takes approximately 8 hours to charge to 90% capacity. The backup time depends on the current load; at 50% load (180W), it is 6 minutes, and at 25% load (90W), it is 18 minutes. The off-mode charging function replenishes power even when the unit is switched off, and after power is restored, the power supply automatically restarts and resumes operation. The cold start function handles starting the power supply directly from the battery without mains power.

Construction and protection systems

The power supply has a Tower design with dimensions of 87×165×267mm and a weight of 3.96kg. Its compact format makes it easy to place under a desk or next to a workstation. The operating noise does not exceed 20dB, supporting a quiet working environment. Integrated circuits protect connected devices against overload, deep discharge, overcharging and overvoltage. The overload protection automatically disconnects the output if the connected load exceeds the specified power, protecting both the power supply itself and the appliances.

Connectivity options

For connecting protected appliances, the power supply provides four Schuko-type output sockets. All sockets are fully backed up by the battery and are also protected against power surges. In addition to the standard outputs, the unit also includes an integrated USB fast charger. It is equipped with one 30W USB-C port and one 18W USB-A port. These ports are used for fast charging smartphones, tablets, and other compatible mobile devices directly from the backup power supply.
