Design and Drivers
The Polk Reserve R300 speaker uses a two-way design with one 1” Pinnacle Ring Radiator tweeter and a pair of 5.25” Turbine Cone mid-bass drivers. The tweeter is designed for wider dispersion of high frequencies and precise sound directivity in the room. The Turbine Cone mid-bass drivers provide greater diaphragm rigidity without increasing mass, resulting in more accurate and faster movement. The crossover frequency is set at 2,200Hz.
Sound and Technology
The speaker is certified for Hi-Res Audio and allows for the reproduction of frequencies up to 38kHz (-3dB). The sealed design eliminates unwanted air turbulence and ensures accurate dialogue reproduction without distracting artefacts. The speaker is compatible with Dolby Atmos and IMAX Enhanced setups, allowing for its integration into modern multi-channel home cinema systems.
Connectivity and Compatibility
The Polk Reserve R300 speaker is equipped with a single pair of nickel-plated 5-way binding posts for connection to an amplifier or AV receiver. The minimum impedance of 3.8 Ohms requires a compatible amplifier, and the device supports amplifiers with 4, 6, and 8 Ohm outputs. The recommended amplifier power per channel is in the range of 30 to 200W. The speaker is supplied as a single unit intended for the centre channel of a home cinema.
System Type
An active speaker is one that has a built-in amplifier, so all you need to do to listen is connect it to a sound source, either wired or wirelessly.Passive speakers are more commonly referred to as speaker systems. They are intended for high-quality, loud, and dynamic listening in the comfort of your home and are not suitable for frequent transport. The main advantage of passive speakers is the ability to connect a variety of sources through a separate amplifier.
Number of Channels
The number of channels in speaker systems and home cinemas indicates the number of independent audio signals (speakers) and subwoofers, most often in an X.Y format (e.g., 2.0, 5.1). It indicates how many audio tracks are reproduced simultaneously, which determines the surround sound experience and bass depth of the system, from basic stereo sound (2.0) to surround sound (5.1 and higher).Specifications
