Synology RS822RP+ serves as an Edge network storage solution for data management in branch offices and for small to medium-sized businesses. The 1U rackmount design accommodates four 3.5" or 2.5" SATA hard drives. The device uses the DiskStation Manager operating system, which offers tools for backup and synchronisation. It supports fast storage of company data for centralised file access from various platforms. The internal 150W power supply is supplemented by a redundant unit to increase the resilience of the entire system in continuous operation.

High performance and capacity expansion options
The entire system is powered by an AMD Ryzen V1500B processor running at 2.2GHz. The manufacturer has fitted the motherboard with 2GB of DDR4 ECC RAM. The device boasts a sequential read speed of 2103MB/s for fast file handling. A sequential write speed of 1074MB/s reduces the time needed for large data transfers on the local network. You can expand the basic four drive bays to eight by connecting a Synology RX418 expansion unit. A slot enables the installation of optional 10GbE or 25GbE network cards. Users can also upgrade the RAM to a maximum of 32GB. The system also activates SSD cache to accelerate disk IOPS for both read and write operations.
NAS network storage reliability
Four built-in gigabit LAN ports support Link Aggregation. If one network cable fails, services automatically failover to a working line. The design includes a redundant power supply to protect the continuous operation of the entire system. Synology High Availability technology combines two units into a single cluster, where one server acts as the active server and the other as the passive one.
Comprehensive data protection and surveillance
Active Backup for Business performs backups for Windows and Linux computers as well as virtual machines. Hyper Backup saves data to the cloud, external drives, or other Synology systems. The system supports point-in-time snapshots for quick file recovery. Snapshot Replication provides replication with an RPO as low as 5 minutes, protecting company data from the threat of ransomware. The Surveillance Station application is used for property surveillance and managing your camera system. The platform supports the connection of up to 40 IP cameras and includes two free licences in the basic package. Users can watch live feeds on the DS cam mobile app on their phones and tablets. The system stores captured recordings in encrypted AES-256 format to protect privacy and meet security standards.
DSM operating system
The DiskStation Manager operating system's web interface simplifies the management and configuration of the entire network storage. Synology Drive is used for accessing, sharing, and synchronising files between different workplaces. The platform offers tools for real-time collaborative document editing via the Synology Office application. Integrated user management defines access rights across the entire company network.
