Technics SL-40CBT Brown

Technics SL-40CBT Brown
The SL-40CBT turntable inherits the tried-and-tested Technics coreless direct drive system and is tuned for a modern lifestyle – with a compact body, Bluetooth connectivity, and a stylish wooden finish. The turntable is made of MDF, a wood-based material with fine layers of fibres. Instantly connect to wireless speakers or headphones with built-in Bluetooth. Thanks to the supplied cartridge and built-in phono amplifier, which are precisely matched for optimal performance, you just need to connect active speakers, or an amplifier with passive speakers. The Technics direct drive ensures precise speed and maintenance-free operation. This mechanism, which directly rotates the platter with high torque, was developed to offer even greater accuracy thanks to its coreless motor.

Picking up the sound from the record
Although the size of the tonearm base is minimised, the tonearm design retains the traditional S-shape and ensures high tracking performance thanks to precision engineering. The package includes an Audio-Technica AT-VM95C cartridge with a conical stylus, which provides a clear sound.
Drive, stability and rotational accuracy
Solid speed and precise torque control is achieved thanks to the 1.26kg die-cast aluminium platter with reinforced ribs and a directly mounted motor magnet. Excellent vibration resistance and reduced noise are achieved with newly tuned insulators. The rubber hardness is optimised to shift resonance outside the audible range. Digital control increases rotational accuracy to the highest level through precise speed detection, individual unit calibration during production, and digitally optimised motor drive signals.
Signal processing and sound clarity
Separate printed circuit boards (PCBs) for the power supply, motor control, and phono equaliser are located away from the tonearm with no cross-wiring. This minimises sound distortion. The built-in MM phono equaliser, optimally tuned to the supplied cartridge, together with premium components and chassis, delivers clear sound with minimal noise.
