Next-generation performance with Wi-Fi 7
The system operates on the Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) standard, which fundamentally increases network speed and efficiency. The total transfer speed reaches 13659Mbps, split across three bands – 8647Mbps on the 6GHz band, 4324Mbps on the 5GHz band, and 688Mbps on the 2.4GHz band. A key innovation is the Multi-Link Operation (MLO) technology, which lets devices communicate on multiple bands simultaneously, increasing throughput, reducing latency, and improving connection reliability. The use of 320MHz channels in the 6GHz band and 4K-QAM modulation further maximises transfer capacity for the most demanding tasks.
Extensive coverage and Mesh technology
The 2-pack mesh system reliably covers an area of up to 550m². TP-Link's AI-Driven Mesh technology analyses the network environment and dynamically optimises the connection for each device, ensuring seamless switching without signal dropouts as you move around the house. The system uses a combined wireless and wired backhaul to link the units, which maximises the overall network throughput.
Comprehensive security with HomeShield and VPN
The system integrates the comprehensive TP-Link HomeShield security suite, which protects your network and all connected devices. It includes real-time IoT protection, a malicious website blocker, an intrusion prevention system, and a home network scanner. HomeShield also provides effective parental control tools to manage children's online activities. For secure remote access to your home network, there is an integrated VPN server and VPN client with support for OpenVPN, PPTP, L2TP/IPSec, and WireGuard protocols. It supports the latest WPA, WPA2, and WPA3 encryption standards.
Flexible management and operating modes
The device supports two operating modes, router and access point, which allows for easy integration into any existing network infrastructure. Complete setup and management via the TP-Link Deco mobile app is intuitive and lets you monitor the network from anywhere through cloud access. For more advanced users, it also offers a traditional web interface. You can control the system with your voice using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Other useful features include a restart schedule, night mode for turning off the LEDs, and a power schedule.
WiFi system connectivity
The unit includes ports for high-speed wired connections. There is one 10Gbps port, one 2.5Gbps port, and one 1Gbps port available. Each port automatically detects whether it is operating in WAN mode for internet connection or LAN mode for connecting end devices like computers, game consoles, or a NAS. The port setup is ready for multi-gigabit internet plans. The unit also includes a USB 3.0 port, which extends its functionality with support for FTP, Media, and Samba servers for sharing files on the local network. Power is supplied by an external power adapter.
