The MiniGBIC module´s design provides for installation in the SFP switch slot. It is the ideal choice for providing fast optical network while saving the cost of expensive full-featured optical devices. Transceivers can be set up according to the current network speed requirements. Furthermore, changing the configuration does not require modifying the entire active element - simply replacing the individual transceiver is all that is required. The module is powered directly from the switch.
