The Ubiquiti UNAS Pro is designed for large-scale data storage and sharing in both home and business environments. This 2U rack-mounted device accommodates up to seven 2.5" or 3.5" SSDs and HDDs. The internal read speed reaches 10Gb/s for fast access to stored files. Its design meets the standards for mounting in 19" rack frames with an adjustable depth from 650mm to 1000mm. Users can configure the system with one or more drives to suit their current needs.

High-speed network interface and disk configuration support
The device includes one 10G SFP+ port supporting 1G and 10G speeds, and one GbE RJ-45 port for 10M, 100M, and 1G speeds. The network interfaces have integrated LED indicators for activity and connection status. This interface provides stable bandwidth for simultaneous access by multiple users on a local network without delay. The storage supports RAID 5, RAID 6, and RAID 10 disk arrays to protect data from hardware failure. Single-drive operation is for basic setup, while secure data storage requires multiple drives depending on the chosen configuration. RAID 5 requires a minimum of three drives, and RAID 10 requires at least four. Hot swap and hot spare support allow for quick replacement of hard drives during operation without shutting down the entire system.
Hardware, security and file backup
The system is powered by a quad-core ARM Cortex-A57 processor with a clock speed of 1.7GHz. The basic 8GB of DDR4 system RAM occupies one of the two available slots. The total system memory can be expanded to handle demanding processes and run multiple services at once. The hardware configuration ensures smooth application performance and fast request processing during intensive network file sharing. The system supports automatic backups and the creation of up to 4096 snapshots for restoring previous versions of files. Users can enable hard drive encryption to increase the security of stored data, which locks upon shutdown or restart. An encryption key is then required to unlock it. Data can be backed up to other UNAS Pro devices, SMB/CIFS servers, or cloud services such as Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, Amazon S3, Backblaze B2, and Wasabi.
Management and network protocols
The device supports standard network protocols such as NFS, SMB, and CIFS for file sharing across different platforms. An integrated 1.3" touchscreen displays the current system status and simplifies basic management directly on the chassis. For initial setup, use the Bluetooth 4.1 wireless interface and the UniFi Drive app. Administrators can integrate AD or LDAP directory services for easy import of user accounts and access rights management.
Power and construction
The 9.5kg steel chassis with mounting brackets fits into standard 19" rack cabinets. Power is supplied by an internal 200W power supply, with the entire system's maximum consumption at 160W, while the dedicated power for the drives themselves is 135W. The device supports redundant power via a USP-RPS backup input. The design operates reliably in a temperature range from -5°C to 40°C with 5% to 95% non-condensing air humidity.
