Recorder storage capacity and camera system management
The device includes seven hard drive bays, giving the recorder the highest storage capacity within the UniFi OS console range. The total power budget for installed drives is 135W. The drive array configuration supports RAID 1, 5, and 10 modes for data protection, depending on the number of hard drives installed. The network recorder can handle up to 60 cameras at once. The pre-installed UniFi Protect application ensures rapid system deployment in minutes. Users gain local access to live streams and the stored archive without needing to pay any licence fees.
Connectivity options
For network connection, it provides one 1000Mb/s RJ-45 ethernet port and one 1/10Gb/s SFP+ optical port. The device also includes a Bluetooth 4.1 wireless interface, which simplifies the initial setup. Power is supplied by an internal 200W source, with the option for backup using an external USP-RPS power supply.
Touchscreen and control
The front panel features a 1.3" touchscreen, which provides a quick view of the device status and video event previews. Management and control are handled via the intuitive web interface or the Protect mobile app. This gives users access to recordings from anywhere in the world through the cloud portal.
Mechanical design
The SGCC steel chassis measures 87 × 442 × 325mm, corresponding to a 2U size for mounting in standard rack cabinets. The design, with its internal power supply, is intended for reliable continuous operation in temperatures from -5°C to 40°C. The weight of the device itself, without mounting brackets, is 9.2kg.
