Wide Colour Gamut
The IPS panel of the colourEdge CG2700X monitor covers, for example, the large AdobeRGB photographic colour space and the CMYK ISO-Coated V2 print colour space by more than 99%. This means that the entire colour spectrum of modern cameras is represented without alteration. It also ensures an accurate simulation of the print result using a soft-proof display. This CG2700X covers 98% of the DCI-P3 colour space used in the film industry and also supports the Rec. 2020 standard.
16-bit LUT and 10-bit Mode
The Look-Up-Table (LUT) of the CG2700X works with an extremely high colour depth of 16 bits, and the panel then reproduces signals with a resolution of up to 10 bits. This means that billions of colour tones are available for calculating the precise display on the monitor. This effectively prevents display flaws such as banding or blowouts, which manifest as gaps between tone values in gradients or as a colour cast in shades of grey. Even subtle nuances and structures in dark or richly coloured areas are reproduced with differentiation and fidelity, right down to the last detail.
True Black
Thanks to its high contrast ratio, the CG2700X can also display dark shades that often look pale or washed out on conventional LCD screens due to the backlighting used. This is particularly noticeable when viewing the monitor from the side in a dimly lit room. The screens of CG series monitors are therefore equipped with a special layer for deep reproduction of dark tones at wide viewing angles.
Digital Uniformity Equaliser (DUE) Technology
Each individual monitor panel is precisely measured across its entire surface at the EIZO factory. All inhomogeneities in brightness and colour casts are detected and removed. The Digital Uniformity Equaliser technology ensures that identical colours always look the same across the entire monitor surface, regardless of where they are displayed. This is the only way to ensure precise editing and image retouching.
Professional Image
The basis of the display is a 27” panel with an anti-reflective coating and 4K UHD resolution (3840×2160). The monitor operates at a refresh rate of 60Hz and has a response time of 13ms (GtG). A high brightness of 500 cd/m² and a contrast ratio of 1,450:1 are complemented by a 10-bit colour depth. For graphic work, coverage of more than 99% of AdobeRGB and over 98% of DCI-P3 is crucial. The monitor also processes HDR content in HLG and PQ formats and uses a 16-bit LUT for smooth colour transitions.
Integrated Sensor for Self-Calibration
With the built-in calibration sensor, you achieve maximum colour accuracy. This sensor is perfectly optimised for the monitor, takes into account environmental influences (e.g., light), and correlates the edges and centre of the image. This ensures uniform results across the entire monitor surface. The sensor is located in the monitor frame and only extends during measurement. The CG2700X contains the latest sensor technology, which allows for on-the-fly recalibration. This allows you to continue working with non-colour-critical applications while the monitor is calibrating. The sensor takes up only a small space on the screen during calibration and is therefore not distracting. Calibration can be performed automatically at definable times, even when the computer is turned off or not connected to the monitor at all.
Stable Display, Fast Colour Consistency
To ensure that hue, colour, brightness and other characteristics are always accurately displayed even when the ambient temperature changes, the colourEdge CG2700X includes a temperature sensor. It accurately measures the temperature inside the monitor, while an AI-assisted correction algorithm distinguishes between different ways the temperature changes and calculates a precise correction in real time. The colourEdge CG2700X monitor needs only three minutes to reproduce colours faithfully.
Factory-Set
Each individual colourEdge CG2700X monitor is individually measured and optimally set at the factory, so it is ready for operation immediately after delivery and unpacking. A large number of points on the gamma curves in the red, green and blue channels are measured and corrected as needed. EIZO's unique factory calibration allows users to start using the monitor with preset colour spaces right out of the box. The detailed factory calibration is also responsible for the extremely fast process of repeated calibrations performed by the user in the colourNavigator program. Each colourEdge monitor comes with an individual calibration report that shows the measurement results of the factory calibration. The report documents the homogeneity, gamma curve, colour space coverage and white point of the monitor.
EIZO Software for Quick Calibration and Printing
Using EIZO's free colourNavigator calibration software, you can correct the colourEdge CG2700X easily and losslessly in under 90 seconds (measured with a MacBook Pro and an EX5 probe). This way, the same image will look identical on the monitor even five years from now. For users who want to calibrate multiple monitors simultaneously, EIZO offers the colourNavigator Network tool. This allows for central setup of multiple colourEdge monitors. The administrator can, among other things, provide users with calibration profiles and trigger automatic recalibration of colourEdge CG series monitors. Using a secure cloud server offered by EIZO, you can manage monitor settings remotely across different locations or even continents. The CG2700X includes a high-quality image microchip, the features of which EIZO has developed specifically for the special requirements of working with precise colours. The microchip is the brain of every colourEdge monitor and ensures the precise, uniform and lasting display for which the EIZO brand is so renowned.
High-Resolution 3D LUT
The 16-bit 3D-LUT ensures the most accurate assignment of tonal values and exceptionally precise reproduction of colour tones, which is particularly visible in shades of grey. On LCD displays, the brightness levels vary from module to module depending on the image signal and the mixing (addition) of red, green, and blue. You can only record and control this accurately with particularly precise measuring instruments. EIZO therefore adjusts each CG series monitor and its colour and tone curve. This ensures a consistent colour temperature across the entire greyscale. The result is the same, accurate and reliable colour reproduction for every single CG2700X.
HDR Tone Curves
The colourEdge CG2700X monitor supports two tone curves for HDR video: the HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) curve and the PQ (Perceptual Quantization) curve. Up to a maximum brightness of 500 cd/m², the CG2700X thus provides a meaningful impression of the processed HDR material, so that an HDR reference monitor is often only required in the final step of production.
Colour Space Presets for Film and Video Production
Presets for the DCI-P3, BT.709, and BT.2020 colour spaces are precisely calibrated at the factory and ensure you work with the correct gamma coefficient values of the respective tone curves. In addition, the PQ (DCI and BT.2100) and HLG (BT.2100) colour modes for displaying HDR content are also factory-preset. You can conveniently adjust and recalibrate the brightness setting for each preset thanks to the integrated calibration sensor. We directly support the HDR mode of Windows and macOS systems. This makes it very easy to use typical HDR video applications with the appropriate tone curve and corresponding monitor settings.
Safe Area Marker and Automatic Colour Adjustment
Suitable for subtitles and critical images: Thanks to the Safe Area Marker function, you know which part of the scene is displayed in a different aspect ratio. This allows you to instantly see whether subtitles, text or important image elements are in the visible area. You can adjust the colour, size and aspect ratio of the marker so that it is clearly visible in every frame. The colourEdge CG2700X monitor includes a Sync Signal function for consistent colour settings throughout the production process. This function adapts the monitor settings, including the signal range and colour format, to the video signal.
Gamut and Luminance Exceedance Warning
The gamut warning works in two modes: Rec. 2020 image content that cannot be displayed in the Rec. 709 colour space is displayed in shades of grey. Alternatively, in Rec. 709 Clipping Mode, you can simulate how Rec. 2020 material would be displayed on HDTV devices. Use the luminance exceedance warning to mark areas where the luminance values of the displayed video data exceed the set monitoring values (300, 500, 1,000 or 4,000 cd/m²) when using the video mode for displaying HDR video with a PQ tone curve. These areas can optionally be marked with yellow or purple.
"Nearest Neighbour" Interpolation Setting
The colourEdge CG2700X monitor offers the Nearest Neighbour interpolation setting as an option for scaling and resampling the image. With this upscaling, the Nearest Neighbour function copies adjacent pixels while maintaining colour fidelity. If the Nearest Neighbour function is turned off, colour tones are interpolated between adjacent pixels, which ensures smoother transitions. Users can choose the interpolation method that best suits the project for different resolutions.
Flexible Refresh Rate
Films are typically shot at 24 frames per second. When displayed on a monitor with a 60Hz refresh rate, they appear unnatural. The monitor supports a refresh rate of 24Hz to 60Hz. This allows you to view and process your film material in the form it was shot. HDMI signals can have a refresh rate of 60, 50, 30, 25 or 24Hz. Furthermore, the monitor also offers I/P conversion.
4K-Zoom and DCI 4K Editing
Using the on-screen menu, you can easily and quickly enlarge different areas of the image to assess their detail and sharpness. The DCI 4K crop function allows users to display a DCI 4K signal (4096 x 2160) and crop the content outside the boundaries of the native 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) panel resolution. Users can choose from three options that determine which part of the image is displayed.
Optimal Anti-Reflective Coating and Ergonomic Stand
The CG2700X offers an optimal anti-glare surface. By minimising glare through the scattering of reflected light, the CG2700X effectively prevents glare and eye fatigue. It reduces eye strain and allows for comfortable seating without having to adopt a forced posture to avoid glare and reflections. The screens allow for smooth height adjustment, and some models can even be lowered to the tabletop. This ensures optimal ergonomics, regardless of whether you are sitting or standing. In addition, you can swivel, pivot, and tilt the monitor to whatever is most comfortable for your work. You can set the CG2700X to a vertical position, which is a great advantage, for example, when shooting portraits in the studio directly to a computer.
Light Protection with a Flicker-Free Image
The shading hood reduces the occurrence of optical reflections and screen brightness, thus saving your eyesight. It is easy to attach and reduces light coming from the top and sides. The monitor produces a completely flicker-free image at any brightness setting. The benefit for users: Your eyes don't get tired as quickly, so you can work in front of the screen for longer and more comfortably.
Efficient Working Environment
The monitor simplifies desk organisation and functions as a docking station. A single USB-C cable transmits the video signal and data, and simultaneously powers the connected laptop with up to 94W. The integrated KVM switch allows you to control two different computers with a single set of keyboard and mouse connected to the monitor. Switching between signal sources also automatically switches control of the peripherals. Depending on the model, you can assign functions from the on-screen menu to up to two sensor buttons on the front. The advantage: you have direct access to frequently used functions.

This makes the CG2700X colourEdge the central dock of your graphic workflow. You can connect peripherals such as a mouse, keyboard or printer directly to the USB-A ports. Mobile devices like laptops or tablets can be charged with up to 94W via the USB-C cable. In this way, you can quickly turn a laptop and the CG2700X into a full-fledged desktop workstation with a flick of the wrist.
One Monitor, Multiple Interfaces
The CG2700X supports a wide range of video formats via USB-C, HDMI, and DisplayPort interfaces. This means you can integrate the monitor into computer-based workflows, but also use it with an HDMI connection. The monitor includes a separate LAN connector for a stable wired network connection. The CG2700X monitor then provides network access to a laptop or computer via a single USB-C cable. This is particularly advantageous for laptops lacking a LAN interface. The LAN interface ensures a stable data transmission necessary for video conferencing, for example. As a network device, the monitor has its own MAC address. Optionally, the "EIZO MAC Address Clone Utility" software for Windows temporarily assigns the MAC address of the connected computer to the monitor. This transparency allows authenticated computers to access the network through the monitor.
Keyboard, Mouse and Video Signal Switch
It has never been easier to control different computers with a single mouse and keyboard. Thanks to the upstream USB ports, the CG2700X has an integrated KVM (Keyboard Video Mouse) switch. The monitor automatically connects the webcam, microphone, speakers, mouse and keyboard to the currently active source computer. This means, for example, that you can run a desktop PC and a laptop, or even a work and private computer, on the same combination of USB monitor devices. This ensures uninterrupted work and a tidy workspace.
Long Lifespan and Durability
The CG2700X is designed for long-term use, considering its entire life cycle and environmental impact. The typical lifespan significantly exceeds the five-year period of reliable operation. Spare parts are available for up to five years after production ends. A long lifespan and reparability save natural resources and the climate. During the development of the CG2700X, care was taken to use low levels of natural resources, high-quality components and materials, and to ensure careful production.

The production of the CG2700X is carried out in a socially responsible manner. Suppliers contributing to the supply chain are carefully selected and committed to socially responsible production. This applies in particular to so-called conflict minerals. Each year, they voluntarily compile a detailed report on social responsibility. All CG2700X monitors are manufactured in our own factories.
