This PremiumCord active optical HDMI 2.1 cable is designed to transmit image and sound over longer distances without any loss of quality. It supports resolutions up to 8K at 60Hz or 4K at 120Hz and achieves a maximum data transfer rate of 48Gb/s. Thanks to its support for technologies like eARC, HDR, and VRR, it's ideal for connecting games consoles, televisions, and audio systems. The ballistic nylon braiding protects the internal optical fibres and conductors from mechanical damage, ensuring reliable operation.

Active optical technology

This cable uses a hybrid optical construction, which combines four OM3 optical fibres for high-speed data transmission with seven copper conductors for auxiliary signals. Unlike standard copper cables, this technology prevents signal degradation and interference, even over longer distances. The cable is active, meaning it contains electronics to convert the signal. It is powered directly by the HDMI bus, with a consumption of less than 250mW. Transmission is unidirectional, with the connectors marked 'Source' for the signal source and 'Display' for the display device.

Image and sound format support

Thanks to its Ultra High Speed HDMI 2.1 specification and 48Gb/s data transfer rate, the cable can transmit video in 8K resolution at 60Hz or 4K at 120Hz. It also supports dynamic HDR, which optimises brightness and contrast for each scene individually. Gamers will appreciate the VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) feature for smooth, tear-free visuals and ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode), which automatically sets a low response time on the television. The Enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC) enables the transmission of uncompressed audio formats like Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.

Construction and flexibility

The cable is protected by ballistic nylon braiding, which provides protection against abrasion and bending. The metal connector shells and gold-plated contacts ensure a secure connection and protection against corrosion. Despite its robust construction, the cable remains flexible with a small bending radius of 20mm and a diameter of just 5mm.
